Carlene Carter Fan Club: Buy

Carlene recorded and printed this special CD herself in 2006, and sold it at her shows and through the Fan Club online only. The songs are: The Bitter End, Light Of Your Love, Change Your Heart, Bring Love, I'm So Cool, Spider Lace, On To You, Judgement Day, Break My Little Heart, It Takes One To Know Me, Why Be Blue, Stronger.

Mario Tarradell was first to review the disc for The Dallas Morning News, writing: "Miss Carlene's first CD of original material in a whopping 11 years finds her refreshed and still full of crackling fire." (His quote was later used as a sticker on the CD's official label release!) And when The Nashville Scene named Carlene as "Best Comeback" of 2008, it was the pre-release version of the CD that Michael McCall referred to: "Stronger reveals a newly matured artist who presses on with a humbled heart. She recorded the album with her half-brother, John Carter Cash, at the family's cabin studio in Hendersonville. She's since moved to Los Angeles, but this album is pure Tennessee."

Carlene later re-recorded all of the songs on "Stronger" with John McFee (of The Doobie Brothers and Southern Pacific) producing and providing multi instrumentals for the CD's offical release on Yep Roc Records in March 2008, making this original stripped-down and intimate pre-release version a very special collector's item and favorite to many fans.

This is a very special photo of Carlene and her dad, the late great Carl Smith, taken the day after Carlene's 50th birthday (on September 27, 2005) after her performance of "An Evening With Carlene Carter" at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. The photo has been used in great articles on Carlene in No Depression magazine and as a full-page in a tribute to her dad in the UK Country Music People.

This is Carlene and Joe Breen at the July 13, 2005 opening night party for "Wildwood Flowers: The June Carter Story," in which Carlene played her mom, and Joe served as the show's announcer and other characters including Carl Smith. Carlene and Joe later married in real life too!
