"STRONGER" AND "LITTLE LOVE LETTERS" CD'S
"Stronger" - Acclaimed 2008 return on Yep Roc Records!
For her first new album since 1995, Carlene worked with her old friend John McFee (of The Doobie Brothers and Southern Pacific), who produced and played almost all of the instruments, with background vocals on four tracks by Sharon Celani (known for her work with Stevie Nicks), and Carlene's husband Joe Breen on one! Upon hearing the CD, Elvis Costello contacted McFee: "I couldn't let a day go by without writing a note about C.C.'s record. It is astounding." And legendary lyricist Bernie Taupin told the Fan Club that "Stronger" is: "A staggering achievement by one of the great voices and fearless hearts of country rock." USA Today said simply: "It's great to hear her again." All of the songs were written by Carlene except the first track (co-written with Mark Winchester): The Bitter End, Why Be Blue, To Change Your Heart, Bring Love, I'm So Cool, Spider Lace, On To You, Judgement Day, Break My Little Heart In Two, It Takes One To Know Me, Light Of Your Love, Stronger.
"Little Love Letters" - Classic 1993 CD, Last Copies from the Warner Bros. Warehouse!
This is one of Carlene's most popular and acclaimed CDs, containing her biggest world-wide hit "Every Little Thing," plus other hits and favorites "I Love You 'Cause I Want To," and "Unbreakable Heart" (which Geoffrey Himes of Country Music magazine equated with Patsy Cline!) Reviewing the album for Country America, Neil Pond made this comparison: "These songs form a marvelous, eclectic quilt of colors and patterns. Overall, it's exhilarating--almost like what The Beatles did with the famous 'Sgt. Pepper's' album, only more homespun and less cryptic." And Expression (Sweden's Largest Daily Newspaper), declared: "Carlene Carter started the new wave of country music. Her album, 'Little Love Letters,' still continues to astound us." Includes 14 tracks: Little Love Letter #1, Every Little Thing, Wastin' Time With You, Unbreakable Heart, Sweet Meant To Be, Nowhere Train, Long Hard Fall, Little Love Letter #2, I Love You 'Cause I Want To, World Of Miracles, First Kiss, Hallelujah In My Heart, The Rain, Heart Is Right.
