Carlene Carter Fan Club: Music

Zella Lehr, "Two Doors Down" / "Two Sides To Every Woman" Single

("Two Sides To Every Woman")
RCA Records, 1977
Zella Lehr made the Top-Ten on the country charts in 1977, when she recorded Dolly Parton's "Two Doors Down" around the same time that Dolly did. The single was even released by the same label as Dolly's, RCA Records.

The flip-side of the 45 was "Two Sides To Every Woman," by Carlene S. Routh. This was two years before her second album, with the title track of the same name--but they are two very different songs. The first one was a ballad (sample lyric: "Two sides to every woman, but they both feel the pain").
