This was the first solo album ever made by June Carter. It was produced by her husband, Johnny Cash, and released in 1975. She did not release another solo album until "Press On" in 1999 (which included new recordings of four of the songs from "Appalachian Pride"). Her final album was "Wildwood Flower," in 2003.

The entire "Appalachian Pride" album was reissued on the 1999 double CD "June Carter & Johnny Cash - It's All In The Family" on the Bear Family label; and also on the 2005 June Carter Cash double CD retrospective, "Keep On The Sunny Side."
